Hi, I’m Yazmin
I’m a Columbus-based photographer and filmmaker capturing weddings, couples, and families in a natural, timeless, and heartfelt way.
I love capturing genuine, love-filled moments—the quiet, emotional, and in-between moments that mean the most. I want you to feel relaxed, comfortable, and completely yourself in front of my camera.
How it all started
I first discovered my love for storytelling while studying at the Columbus College of Art & Design.
Originally, I planned to go into animation, but after taking a video class, everything changed. I fell in love with being behind the camera and bringing stories to life through film and photography.
While in college, I met Kodjo when a professor placed us in the same group project. We connected right away and have been working together ever since. Through his business, Kodjoarts, we gained experience not only capturing weddings, but also working on corporate projects, music videos, and commercials—growing and building a creative business together.
Now, I’m excited to continue growing and branching out on my own.
A little about my life
Outside of photography, I’m a wife and a mom to my little boy, August—along with our dog Malcolm and our three cats.
Family is everything to me, and it’s a big part of why I care so much about the moments I capture for others.
When I’m not working, I’m usually spending time with my family, editing late at night, or—when I can find a little extra time—working on creative projects for my Etsy shop, Minroots & Stitch.
My approach
Your experience should feel relaxed, natural, and true to who you are.
I gently guide you into poses while also capturing the in-between moments—the laughter, the movement, and the real emotions that happen naturally.
